Dressage to Music Demo with Hugo and Chico

On Saturday 31 January, I travelled to Berkshire College to give a Dressage to Music demonstration to Thames Valley Riding Club with Chico and Hugo.

Hugo went first, showing the paces and the choreography possibilities of the novice test. We worked to different types of music and then showed our Novice Freestyle. This was a good chance to do it in front of an audience prior to the Regionals. He was foot perfect and was perfectly behaved, very chilled with a crowd, I was so proud of him.

My pupil, Marie Pearce and Small Soldier were next up and they did a lovely demonstration of the movements required at elementary level. We have used some great music for this pair and the audience appreciated it. Marie then rode her elementary music test, it was lovely and judge Dilys Gordon was very positive about their performance. She pointed out to the audience that this combination demonstrated just what an amateur rider on an ordinary horse could achieve with hard work and correct training. I was so pleased for Marie, she works very hard at her training and deserves to do well. She has done a few demos with me and can always be relied upon to get out there and do it. Well done Marie!!

Finally it was Chico's turn. He loves demos, he adores to be watched and always shows off. He worked well, although he threw in a few one time changes when he should not have, but on the whole was well behaved!

We are always happy to demonstrate to riding clubs or interested groups, so get in touch!
