Anthony (Fulminante-Cen) scored a double win at Kingston Maurward on 11 March, winning the Medium qualifier and then, in his debut at the level, winning the Advanced Medium qualifier as well! He is now fully qualified for the Medium Open at the summer Regionals and also part qualified Advanced Medium. He merited an entry in Horse and Hound, with a picture, see April 22 issue.
He will do a few more Advanced Mediums this season to see if we can qualify, and we have stepped up the work a gear to prepare him for PSG this winter. I am working on the tempi changes, his changes are good and clean, but we struggle a bit with the timing at the moment. Collection and towards the pirouettes is pleasing, he does "sit" well so it is a case of developing the strength and balance.
Stud work will take up a little time this spring, he has a few nice mares to cover, so I am keeping his competing light so as not to overwork him.
